Volunteers With Us

We’re calling on passionate individuals who believe in our mission to join us as volunteers. Your involvement will help us grow and sustain the programmes that are vital to empowering African women. Without volunteers, we cannot expand our reach or continue making a meaningful impact. By joining us, you will play a critical role in building a brighter future for African women in the diaspora. Together, we can create lasting change, but we need your help to get there.

Become a Leader

AWGS Leaders serve as community representatives, helping to strengthen our mission, amplify our message, and work towards improving the quality of life for African women. By joining as a leader, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of AWGS, sharing your story, and connecting with others who share your passion.

Leaders meet monthly via video conference to discuss initiatives and further our collective goals. If you’re interested in becoming a leader and supporting our mission, we’d love to hear from you.

To learn more about the AWGS Leaders programme or to connect with a leader near you, please email us.

A journey that unites, a community that cares

A journey that unites, a community that cares

Our charity’s mission to provide education and support for African women in the diaspora is deeply dependent on the dedication and passion of our volunteers. Without their invaluable contributions, we simply cannot expand our impact and reach those who need us the most. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, whether it’s mentoring women, facilitating workshops, or helping us organise and deliver key services. Their commitment enables us to continue creating safe spaces, promoting diversity and inclusion, and addressing systemic issues like racism and discrimination.

Your voice matters

My mother’s fight made me realise that I needed to share my story to advocate for better and more resources to support African Women Group Scotland survivors and their families.“

Government funding for African Women Group Scotland research, treatment, and care is critical. Collectively, our voices are powerful motivators to hold our representatives accountable at all levels of the government and to encourage further investment in the African Women Group Scotland space.
